ABOUT

I am a recent graduated from SUNY College at Old Westbury.  I am seeking a career in the public relations field.  My enclosed resume shows that I have had over eight years experience in an office environment and three and a half years experience being a publicist for award winning children’s books author, Carole P. Roman, and Young Adult novelist, Michael Phillip Cash.

 

This work has helped me develop the necessary skills to effectively handle clients and their needs in the entertainment field.  In addition, I have initiated and developed valuable relationships with successful media companies like, THEM Media and their founder and executive producer, Tony Harding.  With my determination and hard work, I was able to land author Michael Phillip Cash an optioning deal for one of his books to become a movie.

EXPERIENCE

Publicist, Chelshire Incorporated, Bethpage, N.Y. | February 2013 – Present

  • Use Excel to generate mailing lists.  The use of the mailing lists were to send out newly released published books for reviews and promotion representing children’s books author, Carole P. Roman, and Young Adult novelist, Michael Phillip Cash.

  • Created promotional items for book releases.  Used social network accounts like Twitter and Facebook to help promote the authors, connect with bloggers, run Amazon Giveaways with their published books, set up interviews between the authors and media outlets such as radio and websites.

  • Answered phones, sent out emails using Outlook and faxed – maintaining general office decorum and assuring that all communication is received and organized properly.

  • Applied for book awards in appropriate categories and genres, stayed on top of awards received.

  • Created relationships between film producers at THEM Media and author Michael Phillip Cash where they are optioning one of his books to be made into a movie.

 

Office Manager, That Coupon Book, Bellmore, N.Y. | December 2008 – March 2013

  • Use QuickBooks and Excel to create invoices and manage customer, vendor and payment information. Generate and analyze reports based on commissions for sales representatives, export reports into Microsoft Excel, document sales, look up sales reports, etc.

  • Created and maintained website (www.ThatCouponBook.com), Twitter and Facebook accounts to help promote business, update coupons, testimonials, and contest dates for the company, and promote it on Twitter and Facebook, etc.

  • Answer phones, send out emails and faxes- maintaining general office decorum and assuring that all communication is received and organized properly.

  • Mange and coordinate all accounts receivable, including generating invoices, informing clients of balances, collecting and processing payments from customers and following up on open and past due invoices.

  • Manage sales teams by tracking scheduling and keeping them up to date with important information.

 

Internet Research, U.S. Globe Corporation, Garden City Park, N.Y. | February 2013 – February 2014

  • Use Outlook to produce, send and receive emails

  • Use Excel to generate spreadsheets based on company’s top five competitors prices

  • Followed up with team members in department to construct a plan of action for future work goals
